A Republican challenger has emerged to take on Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez to represent New York’s 14th Congressional District. From first glance in the video announcement and campaign ad video below, Scherie Murray seems to be the anti-AOC and I mean that in every positive and excellent sense of the phrase.
Murray is a LEGAL immigrant from Jamaica, businesswoman, and well-spoken. Above everything else, she seems to understand that her job is to represent the needs of her constituants in Queens and the Bronx. This is in direct opposition to Ocasio-Cortez who mostly seems interested in promoting herself and promoting socialism to the destruction of her own Democrat Party and the USA (in that order).
Scherie Murray pretty much removes every intersectionality and victim card that Ocasio-Cortez can try to play.
Can’t play the oppressed woman card.
Can’t play the oppressed race card.
Ocasio-Cortez will find plenty of other ways to try to paint Scherie Murray as a horrible person. That’s simply how the woke progressive Left operates. I’m sure Ocasio-Cortez will even try to find a way to downplay Murray’s legal immigration as somehow racist or xenophobic or something simply because she is a Republican.
I suspect Murray will have NO problem raising massive amounts of money from all over the country as Ocasio-Cortez is a widely disliked member of Congress. She really can’t gripe about that either because it was Leftists from the Justice Democrats outside her own district who basically got Ocasio-Cortez elected.
According to Wikipedia, the Justice Democrats were able to get Raúl Grijalva, Ro Khanna, Ayanna Pressley, Rashida Tlaib, Ilhan Omar, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and Pramila Jayapal all elected. Yes, all four members of “The Squad” (which I call The Four Horsewomen of the Democrat Party Apocolypse) came to us courtesy of the Justice Democrats.
Should be interesting to see what happens. Nancy Pelosi said that a glass of water labeled with a D (for Democrat) could get elected in a district like this. A Republican has a huge battle to win.
